The marked entrance to the trail is located in historic Riverside Park, on the north side of the boathouse. This 4.6-mile trail, located in the heart of the capital city, is great for hiking, biking, birdwatching, and seasonal snowshoeing and cross country skiing.
Just north of downtown, the Victorian-era Riverside Park is home to the Greater Hartford Jaycees Community Boathouse, Riverfront Recapture's Community Rowing program, and the Riverfront Adventure Challenge Course.
Riverside Park amenities include a boat launch, picnic tables and charcoal grills, sand volleyball court, cricket and football fields, playground, fishing access, sculpture installations, drinking fountain, port-o-lets, charcoal grills (these are the only grills allowed to be used in the parks – no personal grills are allowed), and bike racks.
Riverwalk trail system is subject to seasonal flooding. Visit Riverfront Recapture's website for updates on trail conditions.
