Description

In order to hike these trails, a permit from the RWA is required.

The blue with yellow Greenway Connection Trail is a link in the Woodbridge Greenway and enters the Lake Chamberlain area from Dillon Road at the south end, and from Route 63 on the west side. These 4 acres of delightful woods and glen contain paths along the Sargent River.

From Dillon Road, the blue-yellow trail descends to and traverses a small stream on the old Woodbridge Glen Road. Please stay on the Blue Trail with Yellow Dot and do not hike down to Lake Glen. There is no swimming or fishing in this reservoir.

The trail follows and then crosses Sperry Road (closed to through traffic each winter). The Sargent River flows south through Sperry Park and Sperry Falls from Lake Chamberlain in Bethany down to Lake Glen in Woodbridge. Water from the falls was used to run a wool processing mill in the late 18th to early 19th century. There are many old stone walls to be seen.

Heading north and west, will lead to many small bridges and a trail connecting to the RWA Lake Chamberlain area, and eventually reach Amity Road/Route 63 just east of Round Hill.

Alternatively, hikers without RWA permit can walk west on Dillon Road to Sperry Road, and follow Sperry Road to Cassway Road and then up Route 63 to where the trail intersects the state road. Please use caution waling along Route 63.

There is some fishing allowed on the Sargent River between Sperry Road and the gas line (State fishing license is required). Please contact the RWA for more details.
