Coney Rock Preserve features a wooded ridge with a 1000-foot long ledge that offers panoramic views of Mansfield Hollow, Naubesatuck Lake, and Fenton River.

Description

Entrance trails are relatively steep. Trails wind through hemlock groves, old farm roads, stone ledges ferns, historic stonewalls, and wetlands to Coney Rock Overlook which offers dramatic views of the Fenton River and Naubesatuck Lake with views of the hills of Scotland, CT in the distance. The preserve is jointly owned by the Town of Mansfield and Joshua's Trust.

Rules

Enjoy the park from dawn to dusk.
Mountain biking and swimming are not permitted.
Keep pets on a leash and clean up after them.
Respect private property rights.
Stay on the trails. Pack out what you pack in.
Consumption of alcohol is prohibited.
Do not light fires.
Hunting is prohibited.
Riding horses is prohibited.
Motorized vehicles are prohibited.
Removal of any plants is prohibited.

Trailhead Information

From the intersection of Route 275 and Route 195

Go south on Route 195 for 2.9 miles. Turn left at blinker onto Chaffeeville Road. Go 2 miles; parking is on right and left, just past the junction with Mulberry Road.
