This town owned park and recreational facility boasts a golf course, tennis courts, paddle tennis courts, a swimming pool, boating, and a restaurant.
This area provides popular fishing locations along the southern tip of Hendricks Point. Note: This mapped trail is unimproved shoreline walk along the banks of the Saugatuck River. The natural shoreline provides for a very rocky and sandy beachfront. High tides will effectively limit access to the area. A portion of the trail walk will take you near Longshore Sailing School, where you will be able to see classes depart on their boats with colorful sails. The trail also leads you to the E.R. Strait Marina with vistas and picnic areas.
Hendricks Point also doubles as the practice range for Longshore Golf Course. There is a catchfence to stop errant golf shots from leaving the point and the range is upslope from the river edge. However, care should be taken while the range is active.
Please note: Parking for those without a beach sticker is limited to the lower lot at Hendricks Point or in front of the Recreation Office, seven days a week, year round.
As you exit Longshore Park on the winding road along Gray’s Creek, a thriving wetland system exhibiting a flourishing array of shoreline birds is presented seasonally.
