ALERT! Southford Falls State Park is impacted by recent flooding. Visit the Southford Falls State Park Page for more information.
Southford Falls State Park consists of a small network of forested trails alongside Papermill Pond and Eightmile Brook. The trails feature a covered bridge, fire tower, and falls as well as picnic areas and an accessible fishing area. The Red Trail begins near the park entrance and loops around back to papermill Pond, with a 0.1 mile out and back to the fire tower mid-way.
At the turn of the century, this was the site of the Diamond Match Company. Scenic waterfalls are at the northwest end of the Park on the Eight Mile River. The Larkin Bridle Trail is nearby. Southford Falls was established as a state park in 1932 and has 169 acres.
