Madeline Regan Preserve is composed of three trails that can all be traversed through a figure eight path. Visitors will first make their way along the yellow blazed CT Path, which originally served as an Native American trade route and was later used by Thomas Hooker and other European settlers as they moved from the Massachusetts Bay Colony into the rich farmlands of Central Connecticut in the early 1630s.
The CT Path leads directly into the Blue Loop, blazed blue, which is an upper loop through a wooded section of the property. Once visitors have reached the main trail intersection at the end of the blue loop, they can then traverse the Esker Trail, blazed red. The Esker Trail runs along a glacial esker ridge that parallels the Connecticut Path. From this trail there are fantastic views 80 feet below of what is likely a glacial kettle hole. In total, the Madeline Regan Preserve trail system totals about 1.2 miles.
