Lake Mohegan Conservation Area has an extensive trail system providing the opportunity for short walks and longer hikes over varied terrain.
The Yellow and Red Trails are the two primary routes. The Yellow Trail is a 2.5 miles loop around the perimeter of the area and traverses the steep hillside east of the lake. The Yellow Trail later crosses the Mill River north of the Cascades over a footbridge. The Yellow Trail starts on the south side of the main parking area.
The Red Trail is shorter than the Yellow Trail and measures about 1.6 miles in length. It’s also flatter and more closely follows the edges of Lake Mohegan and the Mill River, providing access to the Cascades. Several secondary trails are also found in the area.
