The Edith Toomey Clark Property passes through the stone walls of bygone farm fields, along the Hop River and a marsh, and past a gorge with a cascading stream in the springtime. The "Triple Tree" on the orange and white trail is a great spot for photos with kids.
Edith "Edie" Toomey Clark was a nurse, veteran, and longtime resident of Bolton with a love of the environment. The property was given by her family to the Bolton Land Trust in her memory.
Access is from the Hop River State Park Trail parking lot on Steele's Crossing Road in Bolton, CT. Follow the rail trail northwest about 0.2 miles. The orange-blazed trailhead is almost directly across from the sign for the Rose Trail, which can be combined with this trail for more distance.
