Description

The Allanach-Wolf Woodlands is a gorgeous trail network. From the parking lot, the Purple blazed trail begins. Lake Marie is at the beginning of the trail waiting for hikers to enjoy its pretty view. Various streams feed into Lake Marie as they weave through the property. There are three points of interest that offer amazing views of Lake Marie; on its left, and two at the northern part of the lake. This preserve also has Blue, Red, and Yellow Trails.

Other Information

History

This 102.6 acres of largely forested land was donated to Joshua’s Trust by Ada Wolf in 2007. Located on Back Road in Windham, the property is in an area identified as having the highest natural resource priority in the Town of Windham’s Plan of Conservation. Streams that course through the woods feed into a 22-acre shallow pond, known as Lake Marie.

In addition to the property, Ada Wolf left an endowment for its management and for our land trust to protect adjacent lands, a far-sighted gift that opens a potential greenway. In accordance with Ada Wolf’s wishes, the property is named the Allanach-Wolf Woodlands.
